Gay men have been associated with death as such, right? Something that we discussed in some detail in our episode on hooking up and queer theory. But I think we can jump also from homophobia to racism, which you know, sometimes those leaps can be a little rough, but using the logic of contamination as the bridge. It's not simply that there is a desire for separation, but that that separation has a purificationist component or function.
