The Aristotelian View of Human Nature
Kant argues that human beings have two bistimungen, as he calls it, two vocations. One end is that of what you could call wholeness and the other is perfection. Our desire for perfection drives us to question all those very norms and orders that constitute our make up the orders that satisfy our desire for wholeness. Unlike Aristotle, where nature gives us a kind of harmonious end or purpose for Kant, nature is dissatisfying or irrational in a deep sort of way.
