Teaching Human Anatomy in the Medical School
Paleontologists have to work on fish. They're like, what? Give me my money, man. But it became clear that knowing the evolutionary history is a very powerful way to teach human anatomy. The limbs, the head, the basic structures and architecture of our body were originally established in fish living in aquatic ecosystems hundreds of millions of years ago. That's knowable, deeply knowable from the fossils, from comparative anatomy, from all kinds of other disciplines, including molecular biology.
