The Magdalena Campaign Put Bolivar on the Map
Simon bolivar's campaign put him on the map. He cleared out all royalist units he came across with relentless speed and aggression. By january eighth, 18 13, that is, just 15 days after setting out, belevar and his men had travelled 300 miles up the magdalena river. The capstone of the campaign came a few days later, when he moved off the ver to capture the city of ocana near the border with venezuela.
