What's the Story of the Cornish?

Once there was no prayer book or bible permitted, people started eroading it. By the middle of the 17 hundreds cornish was confined to west penwift and lizard peninsula. But i reckon there was probably a lot of cornish that could have been rescued as well - which was lost between the two world wars. I came across a family which when there was a picture onkey on the wall, they didn't say it was wonkey, or its skew whiff, or anything you'd find in o standard english. They would say it's kikisky. And then is, i mentioned it to some one else recently who saysd yes, i know that term as well.
