Many Chinese companies, in Tundungwawa, have a significant footprint on the continent. In my own work, I've shown that about 70% of Africa is, for example, ICT infrastructure alone is built by Huawei. And so when you're a cash-strapped institution or acash-strapped ministry, working with a kind of Chinese vendor always seems like the most obvious supplier. But at the moment, your options are limited.
