Love of one's own actually supersedes your loyalty to the city, he says. But there's one person who does choose the city over her own: valumnia. She is probably my favourite character in the play - she has a wonderful kind of prodt and contemplation. A lot of times the love that's shown isn't not real love, but it can be fake on some level. And so you can kind offake on some level that the city is your family when the love of one's Own coincides with love of the city.
