Aquinas and Charity
Aquinas thinks that we have both a nat in the supernatural end. And everything that you're doing here, if you're doing it well, is ultimately ordered to that,. If god invites you to eternal life with him, that's just like a completely gratuitous gesture on his part. The only way that you can attain your supernatural end is through god's grace. So faith and charity as a perfection of the will are a graces given to you by god.
