Midday Meal Food Poisoning Cases in India
In 2008 Deepa conducted an audit on this in Andhra Pradesh and found issues with things like quality and hygiene. Despite improvements in the implementation of the scheme in several states, data shows that most of the midday meal food poisoning cases were recorded in Karnataka, Odisha, Telegana, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. Measuring the success of this scheme becomes difficult when the comptroller and auditor general of India's audits find that health and safety provisions are not being followed in several states.
