There are many treasuries within the church's treasury. We should choose a few of them and then be faithful to them, not bouncing around from one devotion to the other. The rosary is so strongly encouraged by saints and popes that it's essentially like a bible study on string. You might love saint louis de montfort, you might not. But i don't think you have to be afraid if you read a saint and they don't strike you as compelling. And there are certain e apparitions of the blessed virgin mary, for example, at fatima where these seem to be strongly attested to.
