How to Write an Everman Hero

In an earlier era we looked more for infallible heroes. But I think the Superman hero was more popular. It doesn't mean it's not popular now. We need, in order to really connect with a story, I feel like the reader has to be able to see a little bit of him or herself in the story. Seeing heroes with flaws overcome those flaws makes them even more heroic. The inner quest is as important as the outer quest.
