Five years ago, every single song in america's top ten was a new release. By last year, six out of the ten songs in the top ten were old ones and five of them were more than half a century old. Tom waywright is the economists media editor for The Telegraph. He says it's all about how people listen to music now - streaming rather than physical sales. And so those old classics are the ones that have shut up the rankings.
