Most paper cups are lined with plastic, right? Because otherwise, you know, paper can't really hold water that well. So there is some small amount of plastic involved there. And this is where we start to get something called celluloid or cellulose nitrate - made by mixing nitrocellulose and camphor. This was all motivated by the desire to replace ivory.
