i think we should see this as an attempt to sort of write a parody of a religious text. That is largely the styleth talking about, including the poetic components of the bible. What plato really doesn't like is people using poetry poorly, right? Too deceived to use it as a sophist to pull one over on you. Ma, that's what i take the spirit of the poet craves spectators, even if only buffalos rit they're minstrels.
