The Importance of Management in Patients With CVT
The key management pearls revolve around treating the underlying cause and initiating anti-thrombotic therapy. CVT carries a fair bit of morbidity mortality associated with it, but in most cases, patients recover well from it. Reoccurrence risk is around 2 to 4%. The consensus for multiple randomized trials is that low molecular weight hebrin is more effective and safer than IV-unfractionated hebrin.
