Tyson's Water Pollution Problem

In 2016, a report by the Environmental America Research and Policy Center found that Tyson had produced over 55 million tons of manure each year. This became such a problem that the company has actually been sued multiple times for contaminating the drinking water used by the citizens in near their farms. In 2019, they were sued again by the Alabama Attorney General after they had released wastewater, killing an estimated 175,000 fish,. allegedly violating the Alabama Water Pollution Control Act. As the lawsuit was filed, a spokesperson for the company came out with this statement: "We're focused on the health and safety of our employees"
