The Advantage of Open Source Software

I worry that open source has been as escaped, but the idea behind free software hasn't. George Castro's post about this, the distribution model is changing. It's interesting because he makes the point that the desktop is now starting to go in a similar direction to where the cloud went. That reminds me of the whole idea of free and upper source software in the first place.
