The fight for the eight hour workday is what all this is about. But it'salso not what all this has to do with capitalism. Basically, people didn't like working from sun up to sundown. And so they had a whole bunch of strikes all thougout the nineteenth century. Every every few years, some trade in another city would win the ten hour day or the eight hour day. Chicago actually won the 8 hour work day. In the 18 sixties. They won it in legislation, but it was so full of loopholes that it was never enforced.
