Oftentimes the military people seem a lot more dismissive of this idea of asia for the asiatics than japanese intellectuals, citizens or soldiers do. And i don't know if that's because the entire thing was nothing, this is what i learned growing up, but nothing but a fig leaf for japanese brutal imperialism the whole time.
