Only 34% of people know the meaning of the various sounds their smoke alarms make. People completely underestimate how much time they have to get out in if they do have a fire. Nearly half would investigate the area if a smoke alarm sounded, rather than evacuate. If you got a closed door between you and where that fire is, you will have much more time to be able to figure out what's going on, how to safely get out. And i don't know many people that can wake up out of a dead sleep and within a couple minutes, get the kids, get the dogs, find your way out. That stuff is encredably difficult.
