GM was in a good position when the Great Depression hit Maybe slightly luck, but also for just from a pretty safe conservative Operations letting cash pile up then they were very quick to cut production. Financially since they had so much cash and since they prepared and executed so well they're able to still spend money on R&D and improve the product.
