Doctor edmund forster felt professionally satisfied by the successful outcome of his unorthodox treatment. What he failed to appreciate was that, in restoring hitler's sight, he had implanted in his brain the conviction that he had been chosen by destiny for some special mission. Hitler actually suffered a second bout of blindness upon hearing of germany's surrender further bolstering the theory that this was actually hysterical blindness.
