At what point do we accept that something that hasn't always been in a place is here to stay, right? And we should stop trying to change it? I don't know what that answer is. The researcher i visited with was aying the costs of doing this on the whole island, or two islands, are prohibitive. All you can do is hope that you can educate people. Some people are doing a really great job. But even the people who know the most about animal behavior sometimes make mistakes. It's up to the new zealand people, and that's what they've agreed on.
