The Nature of God's Power

The first chapter begins with joseph smith in liberty jail. The doctrine af covenants is where god teaches a very powerful lesson about the nature of power. No power influence can be maintained over the long run, because we are all independent intelligences. And so what this verse indicates is that god himself, the power that the universe is predicated upon, cannot be maintained except through persuasion and through kindness and through love.
