The History of Computer Graphics

Evans and Sutherland was an early computer graphics company that invented a lot of the methods for rendering 3D objects. SGI Silicon Graphics, one of its specialties was having it be the case that you could take a 3D geometry and have it rendered on the computer to do all those kinds of cool things. And I think gradually that sort of special purpose circuitry methodology gave way to these libraries like GL.
