Is Name Resolution a Common Use Case?

If it's built into the package manager, there's one repository, everything's there. It goes there. We could put the name of the repository in the code if there are several,. or i want it to be configurable. Would there be a set up step? Or i issue some command like ad remote repository followed by aurl. The manner in which these are supported varies. I'm not aware of any like general framework for being able to talk about it.
