Xi Jinping comes to a new term in some pretty inauspicious economic circumstances. There are other major shifts happening in China's economy too, like the US banned China from acquiring advanced semiconductor chips. That puts a giant question mark around a sector which is a top priority for Beijing. When you really get down to it, what makes money worth anything?
