Marge Grit was accused of being a witch and going door-to-door looking for witches. Marge's accusations were taken very seriously by the townspeople, who tortured anyone labeled as a witch until they got a confession. It didn't take long before somebody caught onto Marge Grit that she perhaps wasn't telling the truth. After this is when witch hunters and the witch accusers lost credibility within the community,. Nobody trusted them. They literally just killed a bunch of people for no reason other than a lie.
