I would suggest there's a split between what I would claim is the only consistent, the only genuinely Catholic position on the nature of the human person and Locke's account. But in fact, that does not make it impossible to be a friend of a Lockean regime or regime whose theoretical principles are Lockean. The fact that a Catholic can't sign up for all the theoretical principles of liberalism doesn't mean that they can't be a good and loyal citizen of a liberal political order.
