North Koreans don't use ATMs, not even in the capital Pyongyang. When defectors go to South Korea they are taught how to open a bank account. The Lazarus group had no problems understanding cash point technology. They created malware that made one ATM spit out all its cash 12,000 times. To make jackpotting work on a global scale, it used a whole new strategy.
