What's a Hippopotamus Doing in Scotland?

Two major hoaxes related to the lochnes monster were connected to the same man, though that connection was not realized publicly for 60 years. The daily mail brought in actor, director and big game hunter Bo marmaduke. He reported having discovered its footsteps within just a couple days of searching. Shortly thereafter, zoologists at the natural history museum identified those footprints as belonging to a hippopotamus. It wasn't even a live hippopotamus, which would have been quite extraordinary to find in scotland; rather a single stuffed foot, most likely from a novelty umbrella stand or ash tray.
