Pattern Recognition: A Guide to the Emergence of Think Tank Aesthetics

The war shack is emblematic of so much of this kind of thinking that one associates with the think tank, but other kind of cognates academic institutions. One begins to see this rather fascinating constellation between a whole range of social scientists at mid century abstract art in terms of what these anthropologists and social scientists were hoping to do. So, I put a lot of pressure on both pollock and the war shack test as showing the kind of, if not congruence, at least the continuity between how the reception, the interpretation of these works of visual culture from very different registers.
