Zack Snyder had to step away from the movie because of the death of his family and his wife, who was a producer. They stepped away and Joss Whedon came in and finished it up. It's two hours long the original cut. This one's four hours long. "It made me angry that Warner Brothers did what they did to the original thing," he said.
