The Shadow of a Difficult Child
My father was extremely handsome and my mother had this kind of transition from ugly duckling to beautiful teenager Swedish. So yes everything set up for what might seem like an idyllic life and they were very much in love with each other. My sister on the journey back and unbelievably in those days it was on an ocean liner from Bangkok to a home posting or going back to the UK. I suspect that a number of those things are linked to my relationship with my sister and her illness but obviously we can't do control experiments so I don't know.
