The Importance of Character in a Competitive Society
Hayek thinks you do need a type of character if you're going to work well in the competitive society. And yes he does think that there's some places he's looking at in the world aren't quite up to snuff I'm trying not to say it but Hayek does think about race a bit and so this worry about the creeping of social democracy is fascinating. He wants to say that even these things that you think are helping in the short term are not going to be sustainable for complex dynamic societies in the long term.
