The History of the Oh My God Particle

The Oh my God particle flew through our atmosphere on October 15, 1991. It packed the same kinetic energy of something macroscopic like an over 50 mile per hour baseball throw. The LHC can accelerate nowadays and is closer to the speed of light in a vacuum than we had ever seen before. To achieve these speeds in Earth's atmosphere, the origin of these particles must be relatively close by.
