I'm not even sure whether things have gotten better over the last 50 or 20 years. The open science framework has been a really positive force where they really are encouraging people to share their materials in an open way. I think there's more replications happening, way more replication projects for people going and trying to replicate results. There's also this idea of registered reports which reduces the incentive to p-hack your results just to show some core result because you're already going to publish either way.
