Johnny Carson - Is He a Joker?
Carson would wake up every morning for 30 years and he had all kinds of newspapers on his kitchen table at breakfast. He'd get on the phone with the writers and he would tell the writers, you know, let's target this and target that. And then later on the day he would drive to the studio and have the writers and the writers would pitch him jokes and then he would take the jokes he wanted. So he was part of that, he waspart of that machine. The only appearance he made was on Letterman's show one night.
