The FDA's Warnings About Loaded Teas
In 1985, government regulators charged the Herbalife company with making untrue or misleading product claims resulting in the illness and death of some consumers. The FDA didn't take any action until they met with the families of two young men who died from caffeine overdoses in 2014. In 2018, the FDI ban some pure caffeine products, focusing on liquids and powders containing pure or highly concentrated caffeine sold in large amounts that can't be easily measured. But not everyone is about to act on the FDA's warnings and recommendations.
