Cocktail Jiggers - What's the Difference?
The traditional pony and jigger is actually a two sided, hour glass shaped device that you're referring to when you say jigger. A pony is equal to an ounce of liquid, whereas a jigger generally refers to an ounce and a half. In the old fashioned man an martini camp, we've pretty much across the board, up our base spirit quantity to two ounces. This means that neither one or one and a half ounces is a useful quantity for a single dump into the mixing glass or shaker tin.
