How I Overcame a Cough in a Newsroom

I developed a cough while on holiday in January 2016. I thought I'm going to push through this, but then it got worse. My co-presenter and I had a really great rapport where he could kind of pick up if things went wrong. The day that my voice stopped, I was co-presenting with someone who wasn't my usual co- presenter. And the one job that I had sitting there was to speak out loud and I couldn't do it. It made me cry because I just thought that's what happened. I worked so hard to be good. And I was utterly exposed and humiliated.
