Will Deference Politics Be Co-Opposed?

I fully recognize that arguments against deference politics will surely be co-opted by some people who just want to be able to dominate meetings or make misogynistic jokes like they used to. I have zeroed out that some people will use this language to try to invalidate some of us and lecture us about how we don't speak for our communities. As Ruth Wilson Gilmore has said, any word can become poison. There are people who will grab onto any idea that could move us forward and find ways to turn it against us. But my question is what are we going to do with those ideas? Will we abandon them to co-option and declare them the property of our enemies? Or will
