The Role of Ritual in Orthodoxy
Rituals are not only religious though, right? So you came to it through cognitive science of religion. But what is a ritual in general if a psychologist is talking about rituals? Sure. We think of ritual as something where we're looking at predefined sequences that are somewhat, somewhat rigidly adhered to. And here's the really interesting piece of this is that they tend to be causally opaque.
