The Endless Debates About Afghanistan's Taliban Control

I had endless debates with our Taliban minders about, for instance, shots of empty streets. If a bird flew through the frame, did that mean the entire sequence would have to be deleted? They really did try to take Afghanistan back to the 7th century AD. Nobody was allowed to obtain or own any image of any living creature. The booksellers in Kabul were constantly being raided by gangs of vigilantes going through all the books. It could be an artistic one of anything, of an insect, of a bird, and of course, of a person. That was what they were most concerned with.
