The Meditations of Marius Hirellius

In 174, Marius ordered a two-pronged assault across the Danube. It was during this time that he began to write and compile what would become known as the Meditations. The book is mostly comprising self-reflective aphorisms designed to help Marius himself deal with the immense burden he was forced to bear.
