Exploring the Baja Peninsula

In this chapter, they discuss the departure of Cabrio's small fleet from Navidad in 1542 and their journey up the western coast of Mexico towards the Baja Peninsula. They describe the landscape and challenges of the peninsula, including the lack of good harbors and scarce resources. The ships had to stop frequently to take on water, timber, and food, and had to wait for the winds to shift in order to make progress north.
