Evelyn is trying to convince herself that she doesn't really need her mom. She's still chasing something but trying to behave as if she's not and she's stuck in that. Her dad has meaning in that he believes in kindness and he believes in and you can just tell that he is what was really interesting about the opening scene and the laundromat are all these different people who react with each other in completely different ways. He has a personal relationship with people. He's dancing with them. And I think if I said that to Joe Boo they would just I don't know slice me in half with a banana Probably.
