How Big Is There Any Limit Anymore?
The distance between capillaries in a whale is slightly bigger, but predictably, and measured be bigger than it is in an elephant. But eventually what happens as the distance between them gets too big, the capillaries can't supply the cells that are between them. That's how we are as mammals, in terms of the mouse to the elephant to the whale. So eventually you stop. It's very likely that the blue whale is the biggest mammal that could ever evolve. And it's the biggest animal, the biggest object that has ever evolved in terms of life - much bigger than any dinosaur or anything like that.
