Bitcoin Is Just Pure Distributed Information
Every node of Bitcoin is running the entirety of its history. You could stamp out as many nodes as you want, but every time someone else boots up the software, they have the whole history of Bitcoin right there. It's just pure distributed information. In terms of portability, Bitcoin way outperforms gold - that was a big drawback with gold. The most Bitcoin there can ever be is 21 million.
