The History of Bletchley Park

The government's code and cypher school is bit unfortunate as far as most people would just refer it now as Bletchley Park the two have become synonymous. It came administratively under our old favourites MI6 but by 1938 they bought Bletchly Park for £1,000 a year. The park was actually quite a good location to what extent this was by design or just good luck I don't really know because it got great railway links. And perhaps more importantly it was near the main north-south teleprinter cable which meant that of course they could securely communicate without having to rely on things like motorcycle rides.
